LIFESTYLE CHANGE – OVERVIEW – WEEK TWO

Lifestyle Change – Overview – Week ONE

Between a hurt wrist and being sick last month, I didn’t get around to doing much of anything. Since I didn’t post my June Ipsy bag, I will combine it with my July bag. Now onto the good stuff!

I have been exercising off and on for a while. It wasn’t until last week, when I went browsing on Pinterest for some weight loss ideas, that I decided to keep a journal. Sure, it’s not pretty or very organized, but I’ve decided to do it! I wrote down my daily, weekly, monthly, and final goals. Below is a little more organized version of what I have in my journal. Each Monday, I will post the previous week’s logs.

  • Every MONDAY, I will complete a 20 minute work out, and do a walk.
  • Every TUESDAY & THURSDAY, I will work out for 30 minutes.
  • Every WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY, I will do my walks.
  • SATURDAY & SUNDAY are rest days. (Since my hubbie is off work and we usually run around)

  • I will drink at least FOUR(4) 16oz bottles of water a day.
  • Every hour of sitting, I will get up and do something active (ie: squats, leg stretches…)
  • I will be productive by either working, crocheting, or reading.
  • I will stay POSITIVE!

  • I want to lose weight to be healthier.
  • I will measure my success by how I feel.
  • My current goal is to lose 155LBS, walk FIVE(5) miles a day, and feel confident.
  • Each month, I want to lose 10LBS.
  • By April, my goal is to be at 200LBS or less.

I want to be healthier and feel confident. I plan to lose 155LBS by loosing 10LBS a month to reach my ultimate goal of 135LBS by October 2016.

I struggle with motivation because I become discouraged – I WILL FIGHT HARD!

  • Weight will fluctuate.
  • I do this for ME.
  • This is MY choice.

Lifestyle Change – Overview – Week ONE

You are Special

In a few days, my husband and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary!

Four years married & eight years together!

Now, I’m not going to go into anything mushy or anything.

I just want you to know that love can be so special.

I’m not saying you need someone to love to feel special.

No matter who you are, who/what you love, you will always be special.

You will always be loved by someone.

Some people are luckier than others to have someone express their love or gratitude.

Some people are lucky to have that feeling all their lives.

Just remember to always smile – it will make someone’s day.

You are Special

Two Day Family Time

Beautiful greens and beautiful trees. The best way to start off a journey with the family. With my husband reading the list of ingredients in his energy drink out loud, what else could be more exciting? We listen to 80s music on Sirius and drive our hearts out.

Our first stop: Casa De Fruta for some sweet treats. Next is an artichoke hut in Castroville, Ca called Pezzini Farms where they sell (and probably make) the best artichoke cupcakes! Artichoke cupcakes? YES! Yummy and delicious artichoke cupcakes! They are sweet and moist and taste like a…. cupcake. They have bits and chunks of artichoke mixed in, and oh my word! The goodness radiating from this cupcake! You must try one, if you haven’t already.

We finally make our way to Pigeon Point Lighthouse in Pescadero, the sole purpose of this trip. Cold water and lots of tiny rocks. Pigeon Point is a beautiful place to visit. We spent a majority of our time looking for the prettiest of rocks and shells. We left feeling like new people. Relieved and revised.

We finish our night by checking into our hotel room at the Vagabond Inn in Santa Clara.
Second day of our trip was spent walking around San Francisco. We went to Chinatown, where they were celebrating their new year. Firecrackers littered the road everywhere. People were dressed as lions and dragons. My husband bought a couple of wax wood fighting sticks. I picked up two different giraffe figurines by Furrybones. A couple of hours after, we went to the wharf. We bought a few more items, including a new fox stuffed animal and a fox hat for myself. My hubby bought a new backpack and two new hats.

After two long days, a lot of driving and a lot more walking, we finally made it home where we slept in our own beds. Comfort and relaxation at last.

Two Day Family Time

A Day on the Town – and Stuff

Today was a day of fun, adventure, and finding new places! My mother-in-law and I started our day off by going into town. Our destinations: the bookstore, Big Lots, & Red Robin.

When we parked the car for our first destination, she noticed a little shop that had some chairs. She has been looking for new dinning chairs for a while, so we decided… why not?

We step inside to find a beautiful little hole in the wall shop that has a little bit of everything for sale. From clothing, shoes, bags, jewelery, to furniture, books, games, crafts, and decorations! This tiny little shop had everything! We step inside and see a rack of tops & jackets. There’s handbags to the right on shelves, and little misc items on a shelf in front. In the room to the right, I found Red Heart Yarn (which I use & adore) for $2!!!! That’s almost half the price I pay at craft stores! In this room

there are fabrics, books, porcelain dolls, board games, small crafting supplies, tea sets & more! In the next room, we found shoes, hats, and hair accessories. The final room had pants, jewelery, some furniture, and handbags. Everything was priced super affordable! If you live or visit nearby, you have to stop in! The guy that owns the place is very kind and is saving up to go to college to be a doctor! If you stop by, save your receipt  – you will get 10% off your next purchase! The name of the store is Polis Premium Discounts. A little bit of everything, and very inexpensive!

After our time in Polis, we went into the bookstore: Lightly Used Books – right across the street. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything that I absolutely wanted, but she picked up a few angel books. I absolutely love books, and my favorite bookstore is Yesterday’s Books. I used to shop there at least once a month when I lived nearby.

We left the bookstore and started to head to Big Lots. We made a detour into Fallas Discount Stores. It is a huge store with a variety of clothing. It actually reminds me of DD’s Discounts – which is my favorite discount store!! In Fallas, we found cute shoes & accessories!

We went next door to a boutique shop, which had super cute items, but was over priced.

We went next door to that, to a pet store, and in the back were the cutest puppies! There were German Sheps, Labs, and a Pomchi. At the end of the cages, I saw one kitten. He was white with a little tan under his eyes – a Persian kitten. He was laying in the back corner when I approached. As I was running my fingers across the glass, he was crouching like a lion. He was crouching and crouching, then finally he pounced! Front paws hitting the glass and pawing and my fingers! It was the cutest thing!

Next stop, Big Lots. We went there because she wanted to find a humming-bird bird bath. She found a butterfly bird bath the other day, but they didn’t have the humming-bird. She looked through all of the bird baths, and the very last bird bath was a humming-bird! She was super excited! She bought it instantly!

Moving along, we went to Red Robin and ordered hamburgers and drove home. We unloaded our loot, and loaded in our dogs. We drove to Roberts Ferry and walked along the bridges nearby. Saw a few birds flying around – gathering twigs for their nests. We saw a tree that had small yellow puffs on the branches & twigs. We talked and laughed and had a wonderful time!

Our drive to/from Roberts Ferry
Our drive to/from Roberts Ferry

All in all, the day was fun. (Hopefully I didn’t leave anything exciting out…) We were able to hang out, and enjoy each others company. I wonder what tomorrow will bring…
